Leader in Hebrews 13  >> German

Who were the direct recipients of the Hebrew Letter?

A) There were Jews in the city of Jerusalem who professed Christianity - without being saved Christians,
and:
B) Jews who became man through conversion to the Lord Jesus Christ the Eternal God became Christians.

Goal of this letter:
To point out to the direct beneficiaries in the years 67-69

- the city of Jerusalem
- the temple
- the Jewish system
- the earthly relationship
- their houses - etc.
  to leave, -
so that their earthly life could be saved,
because the Roman army would soon destroy Jerusalem,
as the Lord Jesus foretold.

Those who ignored this had no eternal life -
and his temporal life was ended by crucifixion.

Who this call to leave Jerusalem and everything,
was saved for time and eternity.

Instruction of Hebrews
for us Christians today:

==
The letter to the Hebrews,
from Robert Lee,
Ernst Paulus publishing house Neustadt / Weinstrasse
Keyword: «better», «better», «bigger».
Message: The Remedy for Despondent Israelites; a right look at the glories of the person and work of Christ.
Author:
The writer of this letter is not named. Eusebius relates that Pantoenus of Alexandria (2nd century) ascribed the authorship to Paul. Tertullian of Carthage (3rd century) declared that Barnabas was the scribe; Luther believed that Apollos had written it. Dr. Campbell Morgan thought he bore the stamp of Pauli's way of thinking and Luke's writing, and Scotfield assumes that it contains some of Pauli's speeches in the synagogues. He must have been written about the year 64 AD, since the temple is still considered existing. But there can hardly be any other person than Paul who wrote the letter, since this is the teaching point about which Paul alone had full clarity, and that through special revelation given to him. How much did it take for Peter to become clear in this matter!
Object:
As a result of the bitter persecution, the Jewish Christians thought that they had lost everything (altar, priesthood, etc.) because they had turned to the cause of Christ. They had begun to underestimate the Christian prerogatives for their suffering, and, taken as a whole, were in danger of falling away. The apostle Paul (for he undoubtedly wrote the letter) now tries to dispel their misgivings.

Skill:
Note the skill with which the writer deals with these despondent and doubting Christians:
1. Paul sets his mind on the glory of the person and work of the Lord Jesus.
2. He shows them that instead of losing everything, they have won everything and that Christianity is superior to Judaism. (Note "we have" (chapters 4, 14, 6, 9, 10, 19, 8, 1, 13, 10, 14).
3. Then he shows them that they have not endured what others have suffered. Coleridge has nicely stated that the Letter to the Romans proves the necessity of the Christian faith, but the Letter to the Hebrews, but its superiority. The writer does this not by lowering the old, but by showing the new as the fulfillment of the old. They had good things in the old, but now they had "better things in every piece." This letter has often been called the "fifth gospel," because the other four speak of the work of Christ on earth, but this of His work in heaven.
Study by keywords:
No other book is so well suited to study by keywords like this, z. B .:
a) "Perfect, perfected" (chapters 2, 10, 5, 9, 14, 7, 11, 19, 28, 9, 9, 11, 10, 14, 11, 40, 12, 2).
b) "heavenly heaven" (chapters 1, 10, 3.1, 4, 14, 6, 4, 7, 26, 8, 1, 5, 9, 23, 24, 11, 16, 12, 22, 23, 25, 26) ,
c) "Eternal - Eternity - into the ages of the ages" (Chapters 1,8, 5,6,9, 6,20, 7,17,21,24,28, 9,12-15, 13,8.20.21).
d) "Laws" (chapters 1,3, 8,1, 10,11-12, 12,2).
e) "Once - once and for all" (Ch 7,27; 9,12,26-28; 10,2.10).
f) "better"; "More excellent"; "Greater" (Chapters 1.4, 3.3, 6.9, 7.7.19.22, 8.6, 9.11.23, 10.34, 11.4.16.26.35.40, 12.24).

Structure:
A. The Proof (Chapters 1 through 10, 18) The glory of the person and the work of Christ
1. The Lord Jesus greater than the prophets (chapters l, l-3)
1. The prophets were great, but the Son is greater, for while God spoke through the prophets, He spoke in the Son (or as the Son). Jesus is the last word himself.
2. Note the passage "has set itself" in verse 3, also one of the characteristic expressions of Hebrews, which indicates a completely finished work. 2. The Lord Jesus is greater than the angels (chapters 1, 4 to 2)
1. Angels are great beings, but the Lord Jesus is greater, for 1. He is the Son of God, 2. begotten of God, 3. God never said to those whom He saith to the Son, "Thy throne, O God. .. ».
2. "Anointed with joyful oil over your comrades" (chapters 1, 9) proves that the Lord was not only "the man of pain," but also "the man of pleasures."
3. The Lord Jesus greater than Moses (chapter 3)
1. How great was the man Moses! But Jesus is bigger. Moses was a faithful servant, but Jesus is a faithful son over His house.
2. This statement became a terrible indictment for the Jews of those days, and indeed it is still today.
4. The Lord Jesus greater than Joshua (ch 4, l-13)
1. Joshua was a great leader, but lacked, but Jesus is a greater and perfect leader, for He alone can give true rest and lead to it.
2. Is the "Word of God" in verse 12 the Lord Jesus? Certainly He is the Word of God, living and wiiksam, the All-Wise and the All-Knowing.
5. The Lord Jesus greater than Aaron (chapters 4,14 to chapters 10,18)
Aaron and his followers were great, but Jesus is greater because
1. He was without sin, while those were sinners (chapter 4:15).
2. He was a priest of a higher order than that of Aaron (chapter 5: 6).
3. He went to heaven as our forerunner, which Aaron never could (chapters 6, 20).
4. Abraham acknowledged that Melchizedek was greater than he (Chapter 7.4).
5. The order of Melchizedek is an eternal one (chapters 7, 16-17).
6. Aaron served the shadow of the heavenly things, but Jesus served these things himself (chapters 8, 1-5).
7. He is the mediator of a better covenant (chapters 8: 6-13).
8. He serves in a better sanctuary (chapters 9, 1-25).
9. He serves as one who has made a better sacrifice through His sacrificial death (chapters 9, 25-28); this was perfect and fully valid (chapters 10,1-18).
B. The Application (Chapters 10, 19 to 13.25) The life we should live for the sake of His work

Like a clever preacher, the scribe did not end the application until the end, but repeatedly drew the doctrine. In chap. 2, l-4; 3.7 to 19; 6.1 to 12. But the actual application starts here and is remarkable for the more frequent repetition of the expression "let us" and namely:
1. Consider the Apostle and High Priest (chapters 3, 1, 12, 2)
2. Continue to full growth (chapter 6.1)
3. To join with a true heart (chapters 10, 19-22)
4. Adhering to the Confession of Hope (Ch 10,23)
5. Take care of each other (chapters 10, 24-25)
6. Persistence in Faith (Chapters 10, 26 to Chapters 11, 40)
7. Put off all burdens and the slightly tricky sin (chapter 12,1)
8. Run with patience (Chap 12,1-2)
9. Tolerate Manly (Chapters 12.3-29)
10. Brotherly Love Remains (Chapter 13, l-4)
11. Change is without love of money (Chapters 13, 5)
12. Leaving the camp (chapters 13, 13)
13. Offer sacrifice to praise (chapters 13, 15)

Bottom line:

Everything man made for "dirt to respect" and follow Christ alone.

So,
all human religious systems,
Special gauges,
human leaderships,
human facilities,
not to accept but to abandon human curiosity.

Now to "Leader" chapter 13 Heb 13: 7
Remember your leaders, who have spoken the word of God to you, and, looking at the outcome of their change, imitate their faith.

Ex. Kautz:
of spiritual leaders among d. Believers (= elders?); from Paul as the spokesman or spokesman in the Apostle Team.
Acts 14,12; 15.22; Heb 13: 7, 17, 24;
Heb 13,24 Greet all your leaders and all the saints. Greetings from Italy.

When the Word of God was not yet finished God had brothers (hegeomai): lead, guide
brought

Now there are no leaders, elders etc. used by God,
because we have the whole word of God, and the brothers share the word of God together.
